The photographs below show a selection of our balustrading components. The rails, balusters, piers and plinths can be used in any required combination to build up the desired balustrading. The whole can be further embellished by using finials, balls, urns or flower pots, all made of natural limestone.
The balustrades can be used both internally and externally, such as porches, patios, swimming pool areas and gardens, balconies and stair rails. The top railing may need an application of a silicone based clear sealant if in use in a public building or where likely to see heavy use. A similar coating may be needed externally in severe weather conditions, with a damp proof course to prevent rise of water by capillary action.
Our range of limestone stone columns can be used both for decorative purposes as well as use as structural members. Half columns are generally used as pilasters mainly for decorative purposes. The columns are made from three units, the capital as the first unit, the shaft, base and plinth as the second, and the pedestal as the third. Thus, since each unit is worked separately, one can choose from a large number of columns available due to the combinations possible.
Above are just examples of our range of columns. The designs range from those emulating classical architectural features, to more intricate designs such as the spiral fluted shaft column. Some of our clients submit designs of their own, and we are very pleased to satisfy them.
